lil update on me

Writer's picture: audreyscottyyaudreyscottyy

As always, I'm reminded to blog by Kenna who is constantly tormenting me to do so. There's been so many crazy changes lately, in my life and in my family's as well. While my dad, stepmom, and little brother leave to continue their lives in Florida, I have somehow found my way back into, (for God's sakes) Illinois. Again. This time however, I'm not twelve and I don't live off of the backgrounds of Decatur, breathing in nothing but corn dust & cicada infested air. Even though while driving the other day, one decided to come fly in through my window and land on my thigh which was absolutely terrifying. I forgot how actually huge they are but ok moving on.

Moving this time around was definitely harder than the last. I had just met some really amazing people, and I felt like everything was in a spot where it was the right people, but most obviously the wrong time. I still hope our friendships and such still carry on but it was definitely hard to walk away from something that seemed so important only a month in. Time moves on and so do we, which is lame but we're still standing. I think?

I start work up tomorrow morning. It's going to be incredibly odd going from teaching preschool to working at Dunkin part time. The idea itself is honestly so humorous to me, I find myself thinking like... what the actual f*** am I doing??? And then for the foreseeable future I am making donuts and serving people coffee at 8am. Like I said, time moves fast but sheesh, circumstances change just as quickly.

Anyhow, I'm only three days into this move. Emma and I are sharing an apartment which is basically a dream come true for us since the 8th grade. It makes our perspective on age so different now, and I feel incredibly older than I did even a month or two ago. We're getting into the routine of seeing each other everyday after not seeing each other for years. It's like getting to know someone all over again and understanding that personalities don't stay the same over the years. That being said, it's been a nice change, healthy even. We both have the same outlook on things and I have no concerns on us absolutely hating each other, the way most roommates end up doing. It was nice to discuss boundaries the first day. I think it definitely gave us a good outlook on how things are going to be and what we expect and don't from the other person,

I'm going to try to write more but eventually I'll be working two jobs so I won't have much time. Just workin' on getting that money and hopefully being able to move back to Oregon at some point and get the gang reunited. bye bye xo till next time <3
